This Privacy Policy describes how PhotoTruth AI ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, processes, and shares information when you use the PhotoTruth AI mobile application and this website.
Information We Collect
- Photos you select: Photos are uploaded only when you request an analysis. They may contain faces, bodies, surroundings, text, and other information visible in the image.
- Analysis information: We process the selected photos and return AI-generated estimates and explanations about apparent editing, recency, and height.
- Device and notification information: We may process a randomly generated installation identifier, push notification token, platform, app version, time zone, and notification preference to deliver requested notifications and operate the service.
- Purchase information: Apple and RevenueCat provide us with purchase history, product identifiers, subscription status, entitlement status, renewal status, and related transaction information. We do not receive your complete payment-card details.
- Advertising and usage information: For free users, Google AdMob may process advertising identifiers, device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, ad interactions, and related usage data. On iOS, tracking permission is requested where required.
- App analytics information: Google Firebase Analytics processes app interactions such as onboarding completion, selected-photo count, analysis starts, completion or failure, approximate processing-time ranges, paywall and purchase-flow interactions, restoration outcomes, and use of sharing. We do not send selected photos, filenames, analysis text, or image-derived estimates and judgments to Firebase Analytics.
- Technical information: We and our service providers may process IP addresses, request metadata, logs, diagnostics, and security information needed to provide and protect the service.
How We Use Information
- Analyze photos and return the results you request.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the app and backend service.
- Deliver a notification when an analysis is ready, if you enable notifications.
- Process purchases, restore purchases, and provide premium access.
- Serve and measure advertising for free users where permitted.
- Understand feature usage, diagnose funnel problems, and improve app performance and usability.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
Photo Processing and OpenAI
Selected photos are sent over an encrypted connection to our backend and then to the OpenAI API to generate the requested analysis. Our backend holds uploaded photo files in memory while processing the request and does not save those photo files to persistent disk storage. The files are discarded from our backend memory after the request completes.
Our OpenAI API account is not opted in to training, so OpenAI does not use this API content to train or improve its models. OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days by default for abuse monitoring and application-state purposes, unless a longer period is required for legal or security reasons. Images may also be scanned for prohibited content and may be retained for safety review when flagged. For details, see OpenAI’s API data controls.
Only upload photos that you own or have the legal right and permission to submit for analysis.
Service Providers and Sharing
We share information only as needed to operate the app, comply with law, protect users and the service, or complete a transaction. Our service providers include:
- OpenAI: AI photo analysis.
- RevenueCat: in-app purchase, subscription, entitlement, and restoration management.
- Google Firebase and Google Cloud: app analytics, backend infrastructure, device-token storage, and push notifications.
- Google AdMob: advertising for free users. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Apple: App Store distribution, purchases, subscriptions, and platform services.
We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising partners may process or share identifiers and usage information for advertising purposes where permitted by your settings and applicable law.
Data Retention
- Uploaded photo files are not persistently stored by our backend after analysis, as described above.
- OpenAI handles API content according to the retention terms described in the Photo Processing section.
- Installation identifiers, push tokens, platform details, subscription status, and related records may be retained while needed to provide notifications, premium access, security, and support.
- Firebase Analytics retains analytics events and associated pseudonymous identifiers according to the retention settings configured for our Firebase project and Google’s applicable terms.
- Some app preferences and an installation identifier are stored locally on your device. On iOS, the installation identifier may be kept in Keychain storage and can survive an app reinstall.
- Apple, RevenueCat, Google, and other service providers retain information according to their own legal obligations and privacy policies.
We may retain information longer when required by law, to resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or enforce agreements.
Your Choices
- You choose which photos to submit and may revoke photo-library permission in device settings.
- You may disable notifications in device settings.
- You may deny or later change iOS tracking permission and other advertising settings.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your App Store account.
- For access, correction, or deletion requests, contact support@phototruth.app. We may need information sufficient to locate the relevant installation record.
International Processing
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have data-protection laws different from those where you live.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted network connections. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
PhotoTruth AI is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can address the request.

We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page with an updated date.
